Yellowfin

Angler, Jeff Satterwhite from Niceville, Florida hooked this 108.8 lb. Yellowfin Tuna while Overnight Fishing aboard the Charter Boat Sunrise with Captain Kelly Windes.

Miss Destin 2008, Leah Stuart, was on hand to congratulate him.


Barracuda

Ooh! Barracuda! Miss Destin 2008, Leah Stuart, helps Tim O’Keefe from Niceville show off this 30.8 lb. Barracuda.

The catch garnered 1st place in the Barracuda Division and was caught aboard the private vessel The Starboard Stuff.


Rootin Tootin 1-2-3

Kids 12 and under enjoy a morning of Pier Fishing on the Okaloosa Island Pier.

The Rootin’ Tootin’ Rodeo Round-up is held the 3rd Saturday of every October.


Swordfish

It took all night, but 15-Year-Old Andrew Hart brought this beautiful 94.0 lb. Swordfish aboard the Charter Boat Sunrise, captained by Kelly Windes.

Hart, from Niceville, Florida captured 1st place Swordfish in the Overnight Division.


Creel King

King’s Ransom!! Don Bozeman from Freeport, Florida was fishing aboard Captain Ken Creel’s private vessel “K.C.’s Creel” when he landed this prize-winning 49.0 lb. King Mackerel.

Not only did the fish take 1st place in the 25’ and under Private Division, it also won 1st place in the King Mackerel Bonus Awards and 1st place in the King Mackerel Captain’s Jackpot.


NFG

Party Time! Captain Jim Westbrook, “New Florida Girl” set Andrew Bar of Carrollton, Georgia and Gary Scharmen of Fort Walton Beach, Florida onto a fine catch of Grouper!

Bar’s fish weighed in at 62.4 lbs. and took first place in the Charter Boat Division. Scharmen’s 54.0 lb. whopper took first place in the Party Boat Division.

The party didn’t end there! When they arrived at the dock, Miss Destin 2008, Leah Stuart ,was celebrating her 18th Birthday!


Every kid gets a rod

Every child 12 and under that brings a fish to the Rodeo Dock gets a Rodeo Certificate and a rod and reel from Miss Destin.


Funny Snapper and Boys

These fellows had a nice catch of Red Snapper and probably a day of fishing they’ll remember for a long time to come!


Shark Saturdays

The Rodeo is beginning a new event in 2009. Shark Saturdays will take place October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31!

The largest shark brought in on a Saturday in October will win a cash prize!
