About Miss Destin 2011 Peyton LoCicero

Miss Destin"I am so honored to have the opportunity to take part in Destin's living heritage. It is a great privilege to help promote the fishing heritage and the fishing rodeo, which are at the heart of the Destin Community," said Miss LoCicero upon being crowned Miss Destin 2011. "To be forever tied to the community I grew up in and love so deeply is a dream come true," she exclaimed! Peyton feels that as Miss Destin, she has the opportunity to educate tourists on all of the wonderful aspects of Destin AND remind locals how fortunate we are to live here.

As a member of the Destin Fishing Rodeo and the Billfish Foundation, Peyton said she has seen first-hand how Miss Destin candidates are a positive role model for younger children in the community. "I have always looked up to "Miss Destin" and loved watching each year's winner help weigh in the fish along the docks," she added. Peyton is a lady angler and she enjoys both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Her favorite fish to catch is Triggerfish, two at a time preferably!

Peyton is a senior at Fort Walton Beach High School. She is the daughter of Heidi and Brian LoCicero. Peyton spends most of her time with her family; fishing and boating with her dad and brother, Andrew, volunteering with her mom, church activities as a family and enjoying the beach with friends. She also spends time pursing one of the areas she is most passionate about... dance. Peyton was recently invited to dance in London, England this December. She tries to squeeze a little time in for homework, too!

Peyton is currently serving as Vice President of both the Viking Ladies and the Key club. She has danced on the Stars dance team and played on the Powder-puff football team. Peyton participates in Destin United Methodist's Youth Group. She is the co-founder of the Tickled Pink Party benefiting the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation. She is also active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Peyton's future goals include attending a university in the South, such as Tulane, University of Florida, Auburn or Ole Miss to study journalism, fashion and photography.

Peyton resides in Destin with her family, a rambunctious Golden Retriever, "King Rex" and an adorable mini Schnauzer, "Cj." If you don't see her on the docks...she is probably on the water reeling in a fish or at the mall shopping!
