WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH, 2012 - ANNUAL RODEO MEMBERSHIP MEETING
“The Rodeo is seeking members to join them to make this, the 64th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, the best yet.”
The Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at A.J.'s Seafood and Oyster House on Highway 98 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all members of the Rodeo (new and existing). Complimentary heavy hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. A cash bar will be available. Directors for the 2012 Rodeo will be elected and Committee sign-up sheets will be available.

Memberships are now available for the 2012 Destin Fishing Rodeo. The Destin Fishing Rodeo was established in 1948 and is the oldest organization in Destin. The Rodeo is a volunteer based non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote recreational fishing within Destin, Florida; strengthen the claim of "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village"; and to foster good sportsmanship and safe fishing among the general public by providing an organized competition for recreational fishermen.
The Rodeo is held the entire month of October and is host to over 35,000 anglers annually. Destin Fishing Rodeo, Inc. also participates in the Destin Seafood Festival and is the coordinating organization of the Miss Destin Pageant.
The Rodeo is seeking members to join them to make this, the 64th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, the best yet. The profile of a Rodeo member is as varied as the Rodeo. We need people whose interests range from fishing to beauty pageants and everything in between.
In order to assure continued growth, the Rodeo needs members to bring their ideas to our committees. Rules and Awards Committees will begin meeting in February to set the direction for the 2012 Rodeo.

All contestants must be high school students between the ages of 16 and 19 on the day of the contest, must have a 32541, 32540 or 32550 zip code, be single and never married, and must live within the boundaries of Destin Bridge, South shore of Choctawhatchee Bay, Eastern boundaries of Sandestin and the Gulf of Mexico.
